About Us

Asif Ali, MD

Dr. Asif Ali is a physician, educator, researcher, speaker, and medical author. He grew up in the greater Houston area and earned his Bachelor in Science at Trinity University. He graduated Medical School at University of Texas.He received a Medical Doctorate at University of Texas Health Science Center where he stayed on for residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine. He completed a non-invasive imaging fellowship before becoming a Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Cardiology at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

Dr. Ali joined Houston Cardiology Consultants in January 2011, where he provides an array of both cardiovascular and preventative medicine services. His principle interests and areas of research are in awareness and education of preventative cardiovascular diseases. Dr Ali has served as Chief Medical Officer, Chief of Education, and Chief of Cardiology in Houston area hospitals.

He continues to be involved in academia with multiple publications, including co-authoring a cardiology consult book, patient safety grant, medical journals, on line academic journals, editor of clinical science book series, and as a clinical investigator in HEARTs (Houston Early Age Risk Testing and Screening Study). He has been invited as a faculty speaker in both local and international academic medical conferences.

In addition, he has been invited to speak on many local and national TV shows including being a guest speaker on the Dr OZ show, Channel 8: Bill of Health, local Channel 2 news and Fox news, Am radio medical talk shows. He has been an invited speaker for the Houston Rockets on multiple occasions: Dr Ali’s corner and the Houston Rockets, On Call with Dr Ali, Read to achieve, Dribble-A-Thon, Tux-N-Tennies. For his efforts he was recognized on center court at the December 2010 Houston Rockets game and with the Mayor of Houston at City Council.

Dr Ali was co-founder of Endothelix, President of American Mold Guard Scientific, and founder of MD Trainer, medical businesses that aid patients from education to diagnostics to therapeutics. He is often consulted for his services at local hospitals to national pharmaceutical companies.

Dr Ali's humanitarian and community efforts are evident with his work as a board member of South Asian Chamber of Commerce and affiliations with American Heart Association, American Society of Echocardiography, Houston Rockets, literacy groups, medical volunteer groups, and medical charities to give back in both locally and international capacities.

Dr Asif Ali is married with 3 daughters. He enjoys running, mountain biking, fishing, and travel.
